It regulates the direction of traffic flows, pedestrians and other road users, contributes to the increase of road capacity.<br \/>\nVarious materials are used to apply road markings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>special permanent paints for road markings<\/li>\n<li>thermoplastics<\/li>\n<li>spray plastics<\/li>\n<li>thermoplastic tapes<\/li>\n<li>cold plastics<\/li>\n<li>ceramic and clinker paving stones<\/li>\n<li>porcelain crumb, artificial forms made of white polymer or cement concrete<\/li>\n<li>colored asphalt concrete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, the largest share in the total amount of materials used for this purpose is made up of paints and plastics.<\/p>\n<p>Marking road paint materials differ not only in chemical composition, but also in application technology and duration of marking service.<br \/>\nBut it is the chemical composition that determines both the application technology and the durability of the marking. As a rule, the marking material is a complex system containing from 4 to 6 or more components, including pigment, fillers, polymers, plasticizers, special additives, solvents.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">According to the application technology, marking materials can be divided into two classes.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&#8211; These are materials that are used to apply road markings in a cold state at ambient air temperature. These include paints and enamels based on organic solvents, water-dispersion paints, cold plastics.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The materials that are applied to the road surface in a hot way (using heated to a temperature of 180-220 \u00b0C), include thermoplastics, spray plastics, as well as thermoplastic tapes, are glued to the asphalt with the help of a gas torch. The air and coating temperature when marking with these materials should be in the range of 5-35 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>Paints and enamels are used for vertical and horizontal marking. Depending on the composition and operational load, they can ensure the service life of horizontal markings from one season to one year. A great advantage of paints and enamels is a convenient and safe application technology.<\/p>\n<p>Cold plastics are used for marking in places of greatest wear (for example, at pedestrian crossings).
